Even when it doesn't make sense to them...
I know, I know, we are currently living in a world that's overflowing with routines, morning hacks, productivity checklists, and endless ideas and wellness tips, and for sure, it’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing.
To be honest, sometimes as much as you may want to be unique and do your own thing, there’s often that small inner voice whispering, "Well, if it worked for them, surely it has to work for me too, I mean, why not?"And that’s where the problem begins. We rarely allow ourselves to entertain the thought and possibility that it might not work for us. We cling to it because it looks promising and it's proven. But the truth is, not everything that works out in someone else’s life is meant to light the path in ours. It's like having answers to a test, only for the test to be changed.
Choosing what truly works for you requires you to have a clear picture of what you really want. Whether it’s skincare, exercise, your diet, or even your business strategy. If you don’t understand your goals, vision, and dreams, you’ll end up following paths that are nowhere near leading you to achieving your ultimate goals.
It’s absolutely okay to follow general guidelines or listen to advice from people you look up to. In fact, it’s wise. But even then, you’re allowed to curate that advice. Pick the parts that serve you, and adapt them to your lifestyle. If someone swears by a 5 AM routine, and you're a night owl who feels most alive after sunset, then own that. If planning your week out on Sunday gives you peace and motivation, do it. If you thrive better when living spontaneously and flowing with the moment, that’s valid too.
Don’t get so busy trying to identify with certain people and how they do things that you forget what hits the spot for you. It’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough when your rhythm looks different from others. But you’re not here to copy and paste someone else’s life. You’re here to live yours in a way that feels right, honest, and aligned.
And if nothing feels quite right lately, maybe it’s time to pause and re-evaluate. Take your time. Often, we hold on to routines, habits, or relationships that once felt good, but if we're honest with ourselves, they are now draining us. Sometimes we cling to things just because they used to work. If something is breaking you instead of serving you, it's okay to let go. It's okay to change your mind.
It's 100% necessary...
So give yourself that permission. Check in with yourself often. Reconnect with your dreams. Gently, and lovingly, do what works for you.
What’s that one cozy habit or routine that's really working for you right now?
I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks a bunch for sticking around.
See you next time, bye!🤎
