Start embracing different seasons in your life.

It’s funny how we easily recognize the seasons around us. We know when it’s sweater weather, when to plan beach holidays, or even when mangoes magically flood the market. We even track that of animals: migration season, mating season, hibernation we know it all. But when it comes to our own seasons? The internal shifts, the in-betweens, the slowdowns, and the growth, we barely pause to notice them. It's like we expect ourselves to be in perfect motion. Funny, and also a little unfair to ourselves. Don’t you think so?

It's becoming harder for people to stay in tune with themselves, let alone recognize the unique seasons they’re in. When you understand the season you're in, you stop feeling like you're behind or out of place. And even when those feelings creep in, you’re quicker to remind yourself, I’m on my own path. With that awareness, your decisions start to shift. They feel more aligned, more grounded. You become intentional with your time, and your energy. You learn to prioritize yourself, not out of selfishness, but out of self-respect.

And the best part? Every season has the power to shape you. You get to choose whether it breaks you or builds you. When you're fully present, you don’t just go through change, you evolve with purpose.

A little roadmap to help you be more aware of your seasons...

1. Reflect on your current state in life.

What are you currently going through? How are you feeling babe? Don’t rush to answer this like you're filling a survey. Give yourself a moment to actually feel it. Are you overwhelmed? Peaceful? Tired? Or happy? Scared but still hopeful? I like to think of this as checking the emotional weather forecast internally. You see, just like how you'd grab an umbrella if it's cloudy, naming your current state helps you be more aware of where you stand currently.

2. Name the season you’re in.

Try giving it a name, is it your healing season? Your season of learning? Of letting go? Of discipline? Give it a name that speaks to what you’re experiencing. I once called mine my “ growth season” because I felt stuck, but deep down I knew something was changing. Naming your season doesn’t magically fix everything, but it gives it meaning. It helps you hold space for it, instead of rushing through.

3. Ask yourself what you can control in this season.

Start small, with your attitude, your character, your time, your routine. These are all things you can shape, even when the world around you feels like it's falling apart. You may not control the season itself, but you can decide how you show up in it. Maybe it’s about sticking to a habit, or maybe it’s as simple as choosing not to engage or spend time with people who drain you. Both are valid.

4. Check what’s out of your control.

I know this might be hard to believe, but there’s a lot. People’s opinions, their assumptions, how they interpret your silence or your choices, that’s all theirs to carry. Not yours. You also can’t redo the past or predict how the future will unfold. Trying to control the uncontrollable only leads to burnout and frustration. Accepting that truth is strangely freeing.

5. Accept and adjust.

Living in denial about your current season won’t make it go away. If you’re in a slow season, honor the pace instead of forcing momentum. If you’re in a high-energy season, ride that wave. The key is adjusting without shame. I once tried to push myself during what was clearly a rest season, and ended up more exhausted, bitter and burnt out than accomplished. Your season doesn’t need to match anyone else's. It just needs to make sense to you.

6. Identify the values and skills you want to get from this season.

Every season is a teacher and you need to be open enough to become its student. What is this one trying to teach you? Maybe it’s patience. Maybe it’s clarity. Maybe it’s just the art of being still. Even the hard ones carry gems but only if you're willing to sit long enough to see them. You don’t need to get it all right. Just be open to learning. Think about who you want to become by the end of this phase. What qualities do you want to walk away with?

Life is a journey of seasons, and none is permanent. Each one brings its own lessons, challenges, and growth. We sometimes are blooming, sometimes we’re resting, and sometimes we’re shedding what no longer serves us. Understanding this natural flow can bring peace, knowing that everything has its time. Embrace where you are right now, and trust that the next season will bring something new and valuable.

Life is beautiful and you're exactly where you are meant to be!!
